The Glady Fork above US 33 is a milder version of the better-known stretch of river below it. Except for its pastoral start, it’s a beautiful wilderness run flowing alongside Spruce Knob, the highest point in West Virginia. There are very few flat pools anywhere on the small, fast-moving lower section.
