My first kayak trip - 7 of us total, from Capon Bridge to the 127 bridge. Hot day - low 90s and clear. The river was slightly higher than normal due to rains the week before. Nothing worse than some class 2 rapids and 3 minor ledges. The scenery is fantasic, particularly about 2/3 of the way down, when you pass by some large rock cliffs. The river is popular on the weekends, as we saw the occasional camper and several other canoe/kayak groups. Most of the time though, we had the river to ourselves. Overall, a nice entry-level whitewater run for competent beginners.
