This little river is great and clean! I wonder if anyone has seen alligators in this river or the creeks coming into it???
Some gators were seen in a creek in Decatur, AL sooooo be on the lookout for them here!
This section of the Flint was perfect for our first trip as a group with both experienced and inexperienced kayakers. The river moves at a comfortable pace with some moments of fast water. The development along the river is minimal allowing for the wild river feel. There were a couple of nice places to go ashore for lunch or explore. The put-in was very nice and about a 20 minute shuttle time to the take-out. The take-out was closed, but we were able to find a parking place nearby and bring the trailer "cross-country" with my Toyota Camry down to the river for extraction. I'd like to do this trip again with a little more time to explore. One of our members had to get back in time for work earlier than planned this time. Some people were doing the run upriver from where we put in. Maybe we can check that out.
