This idyllic ride along placid rivers and through coastal forest ends up at Astoria, the oldest city in the Northwest, positioned right next to where the Columbia River enters the Pacific Ocean. But one of my favorite ways to describe this route is to simply explain that it goes through a town called Mist. Th at tells you this route is lush and green.
