Tackling the entire length and breadth of Bainbridge Island is a full-day affair suitable for strong legs and lungs, but a jaunt around the island’s south end can be handled with much less time and effort. However, its challenges are still best met by a cyclist with at least moderate experience and the ability to take on a half-dozen decent climbs. This tour explores the island’s southern waterfront areas and offers views of Rich Passage, Bremerton, and the verdant hills of the Kitsap Peninsula beyond. It’s a great summer morning’s ride to be followed by lunch in Winslow and a visit to view the many historic bicycles on display at the local bike shop.
