Climbing and descending the hills of Redmond to explore the farm country around Duvall and Carnation makes for a pleasant afternoon and a good bit of exercise. On a balmy summer day, you’ll find plenty of two-wheeled company taking variations of this route. Begin the tour at the end of State Route 520, where you will find the convenient Bear Creek Park-and-Ride, a bit northeast of Marymoor Park. Escape the shopping-area scene very quickly by heading east out of Redmond on NE Union Hill Road, then cutting through preserved marshlands and a nearby park to pick up Novelty Hill Road.
