More than thirty individual trails and numerous gravel access roads weave throughout the forest of Bellingham’s Galbraith Mountain like a spider’s web gone wrong. Navigating the labyrinth of thigh-burning lactic acid–churning climbs, deep ruts, treacherous drops, and tight technical singletrack that winds, twists, turns, crisscrosses, zigs, zags, climbs, and descends is a serious challenge all by itself.
Galbraith is as hardcore as it gets without donning downhill gear and hurling your bike down a mountain. None of these trails is for pseudo mountain bikers. If you are not physically fit or do not have strong skills, Galbraith will run over you like a jacked up NFL line backer. For strong intermediate and advanced riders, the crazy maze of trails and burly terrain is like a siren’s call that mountain bikers can’t ignore. Trail surface: Singletrack and gravel access roads.
