Lake Wilderness is a slow, easy Sunday-stroll-through-the-park type of ride. Almost completely flat and non-technical, it is the perfect trail for novices and family outings with a bike trailer.
The trails can be slightly crowded on weekends, but locals are friendly and accommodating. The majority of the Lake Wilderness rail-trail ride skirts the east side of the lake. However, in spring and summer the nearly seventy-acre lake is difficult to see due to the trees and brush growing densely on the shores and bank above the lake. The ride is pleasant even in summer heat, as most of it is in the shade. Trail surface: Gravel access road, dual track.
