Wilburton Hill and Kelsey Creek Parks offer decent urban riding for mountain bikers who live in Bellevue and have minimal time to spend in the saddle. The ride is simply too short to consider it a destination ride unless it’s to take a first-time cyclist off road.
The Bellevue Parks Department maintains the trails constantly, making the area a safe and sane adventure. More experienced
riders will want to add a few miles on the road in order to turn the ride into a real workout. Sixty percent of the trails are buffed-smooth soft-packed dirt; the rest of the route is over crushed gravel and pavement. Nearly all the trails drain extremely well, so even during Seattle’s infamous rainy season Wilburton and Kelsey Creek are a good combination for riders who need a few quick strokes of the pedal. Trail surface: Pavement, gravel, and singletrack.
