What better place to tour Washington State’s coast than on the turbulent Strait of Juan de Fuca? Especially when you can also see Victoria in front of you and the Olympic Mountain Range behind you. This stretch of the Olympic Discovery Trail also lets you stroll along the downtown waterfront, through lumber holding areas, and past an active mill. According to locals, the best fish-and-chips in the world can be found at The Landing at the ferry dock along the trail. There’s good Italian food at Bella Italia, and fine Thai food at the Thai Pepper, both a few blocks from the trail. There are wineries and many other restaurants in and near town. Surface: Asphalt. Location: City of Port Angeles on the Olympic Peninsula, Clallam County.

Constent wind from the West makes for a difficult ride to enjoy. Trail poorly marked and confusing through the paper mill you have to ride through to make it to Ediz Hook.
