About fifteen (air) miles NE of Spokane. This short, easy route is mostly cruising and a good introduction to the Mount Spokane area. Because it starts at 4,600 feet, it's also a good spot to escape the summer heat down in the valley. This loop follows the Nordic ski trail system, so it's well marked and offers a minimum of climbing. The trail is entirely on forest road/doubletrack.
