Check before you ride. This trail was washedout by a glacial break durring a rain storm a few years back. The washout took out Hwy 35 at White River Canyon and here at the campground. Hwy rebuilt in one season trail?
this trail sucked big time . i pushed my bike bike down hill for the 1st time in my life due to the sand, there was a 1 mile long washout and several shorter ones . i understand a little clay will fix that right up . nice effort to folks that did all the work on that trail . also this is NOT a loop the bridge at sherwood campground seems to not be there . so look forward to pushing through the sand traps on the way back to. info on the missing bridge should be posted at the upper trail head beginers should evoid this trail
This trail could be great, but it has huge sections washed out and very deep unrideable sand. Yes, there is no bridge and the upper campground was closed due to the washout. The toilets there were leaking and stinking which we reported to the FS. Check with them before riding to save yourself from what could be hike-a-bike. Not nececcesarily a trail for beginners as the lower section has some tight riding against the hillside.
