This ride requires a lot of stamina and technical skill and is for strong mountain bikers. The route begins with a 9.6 mile ascent on gravel roads. One of the rewards for this is the view from Moon Point. The view is expansive and revealing. Diamond Peak, Sawtooth Mountain, and Dome Rock compete with huge clear-cuts for your attention.
The next prize is a five-mile single-track descent on Youngs Rock Trail. It is riddled with tight switchbacks, extremely steep drops, and dangerous exposures. The roads are all in good condition, with the single-track in fairly good condition. The parking area for this route is approximately 20 miles southeast of Oakridge.
