This is a tough 9.3 mile ride. It includes a 6.5 mile loop, and a side trip to the top of Rustler Peak. The spur to the summit is a 2.8 mile out-and-back (1.4 each way). The climbing starts out easily and becomes increasingly difficult as you near the summit.
The route follows gravel roads in mostly fair condition. The final, steep push to the top is made more challenging by stretches of course gravel. The view from the lookout is expansive. The return descent is steep and degraded. Ride begins near Parker Meadows Campground, approximately 25 miles northeast of Butte Falls.
