The gravel roads, doubletrack, and cross-country ski trails at Mt. Spokane provide great riding and excellent explorability; this ride highlights some bonafide singletrack within the park. It treats riders to a pleasant, moderate, dirt road climb through pretty woods containing a variety of firs, western hemlock, western white pine, and cottonwood. The road section is broken up with numerous flats and descents, and leads to a thrilling 1.9-mile singletrack descent. A beginner should have few problems on the climb; the rough upper section of the singletrack, with some ruts and small drop-offs, will prove challenging. for those with sensitive bottoms, the trail smoothes out after the first creek crossing. It's a fun ride for the more advanced cyclist as well, and the route provides many opportunities to explore.
