This is my favorite place to hike and ride within the Spokane city limits. Great views at the top and tons of different ways to climb and descend.
A steep dirt road takes you to the top or go through the gate at the bend and follow the road to a single track trail that takes you to the top of Beacon hill. The trail is full of switch backs and has some steep incline, but it is a better ride than the road. Once at the top, the back side leads you to an infinite amount of single track trails with rock drops, jumps, and man made obstacles. The ride is a blast but the ground is slick; be cautious
great fun! it was very dusty, and loose dust it is. we started with a 3 mile torturous climb to the top of beacon then rode down. there's virtually no limit to the speed you can get in the descent, but watch out! there's some very loose dusty off-camber corners, so be willing to do a skid turn if you need to.
