This is an easy 8.5-mile out-and-back ride. There are a couple of steep climbs and descents, which make it a tough ride for a novice. The Wenatchee River Road is a dirt and gravel road in good condition, with some areas of rough tread and patches of loose sand. The road follows the river past many good picnic and camping spots. wildflowers grow along the roadside; lupine, Indian paintbrush, Chinese houses, and phlox are in bloom in the late spring. Maples and other deciduous trees line the route and add some color to the fall landscape.
