This is a 12-mile loop on dirt and gravel roads. The roads are in fair condition, with some washboardng and loose gravel on the steeper hills. A good warm-up leads into a moderately difficult 5-mile climb (with about one mile of steep grades). The ride ends with a 4-mile descent form Pole Ridge. Much of the timber in this section of the forest has been logged out. There is a bright side to the clear-cuts: they open up nice vistas. The view from Pole Ridge is excellent. To the north are snowfields and mountain ranges in the Glacier Peak Wilderness.
