Mountain Bike! Washington

This is one of Washington's classic mtb rides. But don't be fooled, it's both physically and technically challenging. The top sections of the trail are the most technical. We road up Corral Pass road, which I much prefer to FS 72, as described in most books. It's steeper, but cuts the distance down considerably. We came down Ranger Creek trail, which is known for its challenging switchbacks which traverse the steep hillside. You can also come down the Deep Creek or Palisades trails. Deep Creek is a little steeper, and even more technical. Palisades is a little longer, but you have to portage your bike down a steep section towards the bottom. We also added Skookum Flats to our ride, which made for a 30 mile loop. All trails are in great shape right now. After the first good rains, Ranger Creek gets pretty soupy, and somewhat unridable, so go soon, or wait until next year.
Beautiful trail, nice climb and superb downhill. I love that trail.
