This 15.2-mile figure eight joins a trunk trail with some of the newest singletrack (that branches off it). Although the Mission Creek Trail is the main artery of the trail system, in most places you'll just call it fun singletrack. The ride is an exciting, physical, technical adventure as described, and it can be the starting point for an exploration of any duration. Tahuya is a working forest, so you'll see your share of clear-cuts. You'll also twist on tight singletrack through deep woods and lush drainages; roller-coaster on roots, rocks, and sometimes slow, soft, pebbly sections; and splash through enough puddles and mud to make both biker and bike need post-ride cleaning. Full figure eight and lower loop can be extended or shortened; trail tread test area an interesting feature.

This is a physically exerting trail due to being torn up by motorcycles and atvs. I did a loop consisting of mainly the mission creek trail, 18+ miles total. Small uphill climbs followd by quick downhills mark this mainly flat trail. The puddles were not as bad as I feared, but i was wet and dirty by the time i was done. This is the best signed trail system I have ever seen, almost impossible to get lost. I did see some environmentlists out there who were happy to see a mountain biker.

This is some really sweet riding. Felt in parts like I was exploring somewhere far far away from the nightmare of I-5. Don't be suprised if you endo the second your eyes leave the trail to lolly-gag at some scenery. Try this and you'll never want to have to ride the much over-ridden mission creek/twin lakes trails.

Definitely my favorite place in the Greater Seattle area. Took a friend here and the trails have dried up nicely and the riding was incredible. Exploring the singletrack by the "watering hole" was fun. Rode it one day on a hard tail, and the next day on a dual susp rig--better with dual suspension!
