A fun ride located just a quick 30-minute drive west of Portland, this tour consists of an easy 21-mile biking, hiking, and equestrian route, which follows the old railway line from the city of Banks to the city of Vernonia.
The route climbs a gentle grade, which winds through a mixed deciduous and fir forest before crossing a series of bubbling creeks. One of the trail’s great highlights is the 80-foot-high, 600-foot-long Buxton train trestle. Trail surface: Gravel road, paved road, paved trail.
