This loop tour starts in the charming nineteenth-century town of Oakland and takes you through a picturesque landscape of rolling hills and oak woodlands. When you are finished with your tour, you can learn about Oakland’s history in the Oakland Museum and have lunch at Tolly’s Restaurant, which features an old-time soda fountain.
You’ll begin your tour at the small grassy park adjacent to First Street. Almost immediately you’ll turn onto Locust Street, which takes you right through the center of a downtown filled with the original brick buildings that date back to the 1890s. The Oakland Museum is located on your right and is open from 1:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. daily (except holidays). This small museum chronicles the history of the area.
