Located in the Columbia River Gorge, Hood River is a fantastic place to cycle. This dynamic town has many rural roads that begin at the outer limits of town and wind through the broad expanse of the Hood River Valley. The rich volcanic soils and moist climate in the valley produce the perfect microclimate for many agricultural crops, including a variety of flowers, herbs, berries, apples, cherries, pears, and seasonal vegetables.
This loop route takes you through the orchards and farms of the scenic Hood River Valley. Majestic Mount Hood, Mount Adams, and Mount St. Helens provide a stunning backdrop as you ride uphill from Tucker Park in Hood River to the community of Parkdale. In Parkdale you can explore the Hutson Museum, have lunch at the Elliot Glacier Public House, and admire artwork at the Mount Hood Artisans Market.
