This route from Spokane to Cheney and Williams Lake is a perfect way to explore the communities, farms, and wildlands in southwest Spokane County. The route starts at the Coeur d'Alene Park in Spokane's historic Browne's Addition, a neighborhood with many beautiful nineteenth-century homes. The route follows a series of rural roads away from the city and up to the plateau of small farms and rolling hills south of Spokane. You'll ride through the heart of the Turnbull National Wildlife Refuge, enjoying the Ponderosa Pine forests' subtle beauty and abundant wildlife. Terrain: mostly rural riding over rolling hills, with one major climb early in the ride. Route has three options, but is only 30 miles from Cheney to Williams Lake.
