This route rides along the Coeur d'Alene River and up into Murray in northern Idaho. The route begins at the Snake Pit, an old restaurant and tavern in Enaville. Soon you'll have the roads along the river to yourself for relaxed biking.
Steep basalt cliffs and towering forest-covered hills above the crystal-clear river provide visual drama. Wildflowers decorate the landscape in the spring. Autumn brings out the bright orange and yellow foliage of the tamarack trees among the evergreens. Terrain: an easy river grade, light traffic.
