Mountain Biking Phoenix

Fun, fast trail. Since it was designed for competition, there are plenty of interesting drops, corners and climbs. From the perspective of being a mountain, mountain biker (i.e. Colorado), it's refreshing to have rather short climbs and plenty of flat at the top for recovery. So you can go flat out all the way. Warning, however, the downhills are steep enough and loose enough to require your attention. A suggestion: the two smaller loops (sports loop and technical loop)interconnect with the long loop. So starting on the sports loop, taking a right turn when intersecting with the technical loop and another right when intersecting with the long loop makes a 10-mile loop rather than an 8-mile loop.
At just over 8 miles it is a great workout for those who don''t have a lot of time to ride. There are a few tricky sections when carrying a lot of speed (sandy washes, large ruts), but nothing that requires walking. There is a fee to park of $3 if my memory serves me right.
