The Goshen Ramble is an out-and-back ride that follows the Maury River through magnificent Goshen Pass. Starting in the village of Rockbridge Baths, the cyclist will follow the boulder-strewn Maury River as it makes a cut through the rugged Alleghenies. Considered by many to be the most scenic area in Virginia, Goshen Pass is a 3-mile section of white water where rhododendrons, ferns, hemlocks, dogwoods, and pines blanket the riverbanks.
The ramble turns around in the town of Goshen, then provides another opportunity to enjoy the Goshen Pass, this time from the opposite, and easier, direction. Although rather short, the Goshen Ramble is easily accessible from Lexington and is a must for your next trip there. Terrain: Gentle terrain. Gradual climb as the route follows the Maury River upstream. Fairly level once through the pass. Suitable for beginners.
