Despite its name, the Mole Hill Ramble is a delightful and relatively easy spin through Rockingham County countryside. The ramble takes the cyclist through miles of flat Mennonite country, where on Sundays you’re likely to encounter a horse-drawn carriage. Then it’s on to Mole Hill, a remnant of a fifty million-year-old volcano, where spectacular views can be enjoyed from the top. The route passes an 1822 mill at beautiful Silver Lake, then winds through the historic town of Dayton on the way back to Bridgewater. Terrain: Flat to gently rolling. One short, moderate climb up Mole Hill.
