Early September in Virginia means it’s time for the annual Great Peanut Ride. Cyclists en masse take over the country roads of southern Virginia and northern North Carolina for four days of wonderful cycling and eating. The Peanut Ride Ramble is a sampling of the many routes offered in the Great Peanut Ride. In fact, the ramble’s figure-eight layout offers three rides in one: a 15-mile flat ramble, a 30-mile ramble with some gently rolling hills, and a combination of the two rambles for a 45-mile cruise. If you can’t make it for the Great Peanut Ride, try one of these trips to see what you’ve been missing. Terrain: Mostly flat, with a few gentle rollers. Suitable for beginners.
