Have ridden these trails several times. Going to the switchback climb is a chore and tricky descent. Most times I do it as an out and back, turning around after the stream crossing where your tires will get wet about 5 times. 3 streams to cross on the ride. Much of this trail, besides the first mile is fairly flat unless the loop is completed.
Many of the thorns along the trails are raspberries. The other thorny trees are New Mexico Locust.
Across the Swift Trail road is Grant Hill Loop with several different loop runs possible on old doubletrack and some singletracks as they circle the hill. Much more climbing as the initial climb is 3-4 miles at this altitude. Great viewpoint on left less than 2 miles into the ride.
Long descents are also possible off the Pinalenos on several trails. Don't try alone!
