I just got back from Sedona and the conditions were perfect for mountain biking. rode the bell rock loop and a good distance up the bell rock pathway and all were a lot of fun. There were a few technical spots, but nothing that can't be walked easily. The views were amazing, the trails were pretty fast. Watch out for hikers, and cacti. I talked to some locals about the 'off limits' wilderness area about the north east end of of the bell rock loop and they told me they ride it all the time. I ended up not riding it due to time issues but they said it was an excellent ride. If you happen to get caught by the non-existent park rangers, just tell them you're lost. If you haven't biked in Sedona, add it to your must do list.
We did the Bell Rock loop with our 2 kids and had a great time. They're pretty good riders. Decent mtn bikes, aged 7 & 10, and we just biked in Sedona so they're in good shape. I highly recommend this trail! On the shorter side, which is good on a hot day. But it's a great trail - real mtn biking with some tougher sections of rock that we walked, but we all had a fantastic time. Took our dog, who ran off leash after about the first 1/2 mile. He loved it too!
