Wouldn't really call this a trail. It is a well maintained dirt road with a 0 difficulty rating. However, there are smaller true trails that branch off from the main road that can be fun and some small rock climbs and even a few muddy areas. Lots of camping locations and although I visited it in winter can imagine that it would be very crowded during peek season. Would suggest combining it with the rim road, but warning rim road was closed this winter due to a small amount of snow.
Nice, easy trail. I can't imagine any passenger vehicle that couldn't drive this dirt/gravel road, though I suppose after heavy rains, etc.
Nice views of pines and still, a good view of the aftermath of forest fires. Though everything we saw was green, it was easy to see where the forest fires from years ago have taken their toll on parts of this trip.
