Very easy dirt trail to ride on, several really cool side trails to explore along the trail. Be careful on the weekends, very busy with horses and ATV's. You can add Bloody Basin or Sheep Bridge with this trail and make a full day out of it.
Definitely driveable by any vehicle, but better in a truck or SUV. Great backcountry drive. Given the time of year we did this drive....there was plenty of traffic - probably saw at least 25 vehicles along the way (or more). We drove this north and took the Bloody Basin Road back to I-17. A fun day trip - we brought a lunch and made it a nice day in central Arizona.
An interesting back country day trip, when combined with Bloody Basin Road. The trail guide makes staying on the correct route easy. There are some beautiful little springs and creeks buried in this route, accessible without hiking. Any truck or SUV can easily make this trip. I never used four wheel drive. It is remote and not heavily travelled, so bring another vehicle or make sure you are in good repair.
