We are new to offroading and thought this area would be a good local test for our Toyota FJ Cruiser. The trail instructions were confusing in various areas and we did backtrack a number of times to get back on the correct route which messes up odometer counts. I can understand though that it is tough to be too accurate out there with all the roads/trails that intersect. Trail tight in a few places and will get scratches. Lost our way after the concrete pillars about 10 miles in and turned around. Went to Wickenburg and tried the trail from the other end. Went for a ways but got kinda difficult so decided to call it a day. Just couldn't complete about 2 miles according to GPS reading. Maybe next time! Trail is easy to moderate with a few difficult sections. Quiet and relaxing.
The trail is pretty rough, but most of the roughness comes from all the trees and bushes hanging over the trail scratching your vehicle. I think a 4-wheeler would be perfect here, not a jeep. Unless you don't care to scratch the sides of it.
Also, it's very easy to get lost so be careful. 4wd is a must here.
TRil was great the worst of it was the river crossing and some of the washes lots o sand good outing for an afternoon
