An easy trail through the pines at the start and end. The middle section approaching Goat Peak is open and sun-baked. Very dry conditions with no flowing water in creeks. Only a handful of steep areas and a couple spots that were a little rocky. Beautiful scenery in the vistas and the pines. I can see how this would be messy if it was monsooning, but when I went all rutted stretches were hard and dry. As the guide indicates, there is a sign saying wet-weather travel prohibited. Otherwise, if dry, doable with any stock 4x4 SUV or even 2wd truck. You want a little ground clearance; not for cars. Wayfinding was easy.
trail much more difficult than described in the trail map. not alot of markers after 2nd half of trail. with out the ever present sun we knew we were going in the right direction. beautiful scenery and no people very much a plus.
