The Floy Wash Trail departs Sego Ghost Town Trail at the 4.6-mile mark through sandy soil and thick juniper. The wide, single-lane, 2-rated road is periodically graded. You loop around the head of deep canyons, which cut through the edge of the Book Cliffs and offer distant views through the canyons, across Crescent Flat, and into the San Rafael Desert far below. Initially, the road follows the upper rim of the Book Cliffs, which rise over 1,000 feet above the flat country to the south. Special Attractions: Spectacular views from the edge of the Book Cliffs; Forms a loop trail off of I-70 when combined with Sego Ghost Town Trail. High-clearance vehicles are preferred, but not necessary. This trail is dirt roads, but may have rocks, grades, water crossings, or ruts that make clearance a concern in a normal passenger vehicle. The trail is fairly wide, so that passing is possible at almost any point along the trail. Mud is not a concern under normal weather conditions.
