Over the course of the first 14.7 miles, you pass the turnoffs to Swasey’s Cabin Trail, Reds Canyon Trail, and Temple Wash and Mining Camp Trail. Special Attractions: Backbone for many other 4WD trails in the area; The scenic, white Temple Mountain set against the deep red of the surrounding countryside; Access to numerous backcountry campsites. High-clearance vehicles are preferred, but not necessary. This trail is dirt roads, but may have rocks, grades, water crossings, or ruts that make clearance a concern in a normal passenger vehicle. The trail is fairly wide, so that passing is possible at almost any point along the trail. Mud is not a concern under normal weather conditions.
