Although the remote Dragon Ghost Town Trail has many interesting attractions, one of its most appealing aspects is its location in the middle of nowhere. With the exception of a limited amount of mining in the region, the terrain through which the trail proceeds seems void of human influence or interference. Special Attractions: Extremely remote region; Dragon, a historic gilsonite mining and railroad site; Connects with Rainbow and Watson Ghost Towns Trail and Book Cliffs Loop to form a route from Vernal to Green River and Moab. High-clearance vehicles are preferred, but not necessary. This trail is dirt roads, but may have rocks, grades, water crossings, or ruts that make clearance a concern in a normal passenger vehicle. The trail is fairly wide, so that passing is possible at almost any point along the trail. Mud is not a concern under normal weather conditions.
