The first 12.5 miles of the trail are paved, after which the road turns to gravel. The trail remains wide and maintained throughout and can be driven in a passenger car. Special Attractions: Easy, scenic route that connects with numerous other 4WD trails; The greatest concentration of petroglyphs in the United States; Numerous granaries and cliff dwellings built by the Fremont Indians. This trail is graded dirt but suitable for a normal passenger vehicle. It usually has gentle grades, is fairly wide, and has very shallow water crossings (if any).
