The entire Inspiration Point Trail is very scenic, and it has a truly spectacular viewpoint at the end. The trail starts in Mantua in front of the municipal buildings (including the library and city offices) on North Main Street. After a couple of miles, the trail leaves paved roads behind and continues along a substantial, two-lane dirt road that offers a number of backcountry campsites. Special Attractions: Spectacular 360-degree view from the parking spot on the absolute summit; Scenic 4WD trail that offers a reasonable challenge for less-experienced four-wheelers; Easy access from Salt Lake City; Good backcountry camping. High-clearance 4WDs are preferred, but any high-clearance vehicle is acceptable. Expect a rough road surface; mud and sand are possible but will be easily passable. You may encounter rocks up to 6 inches in diameter, a loose road surface, and shelf roads, though these will be wide enough for passing or will have adequate pull-offs.
