In Laketown, at the northern endpoint of Strawberry Valley Trail, Temple Canyon Trail heads northwest on Bear Lake Boulevard, which runs along the shore of Bear Lake. After the trail enters Temple Canyon, it runs along a wide shelf road with plenty of places to pass oncoming vehicles. Although the trail is only about 50 feet above the canyon floor, views over the aspen- and conifer-laden valley are quite pretty. After crossing a cattle guard at the 8.4-mile mark, the road enters a forest. From here, the road is bumpier as it proceeds over sections of imbedded rock. The trail comes to an end at Hardware Ranch Road. Special Attractions: Bear Lake; Forms loop trail with Strawberry Valley Trail off Hardware Ranch Road. This trail is graded dirt but suitable for a normal passenger vehicle. It usually has gentle grades, is fairly wide, and has very shallow water crossings (if any).
