This is one of the designated scenic backways in this area; it’s a short spur trail allowing vehicle access to the Paria River and to the ghost town of Paria. The trail is a well-maintained graded dirt road that, in dry weather, is suitable for passenger vehicles as far as the picnic ground. The sandy wash below the picnic area is more suited for high-clearance vehicles. Special Attractions: Old Paria movie set; Paria ghost town and cemetery; Views of the Paria River valley. High-clearance vehicles are preferred, but not necessary. This trail is dirt roads, but may have rocks, grades, water crossings, or ruts that make clearance a concern in a normal passenger vehicle. The trail is fairly wide, so that passing is possible at almost any point along the trail. Mud is not a concern under normal weather conditions.
