If you like viewpoints as destinations and are physically fit but technically challenged, then Day Canyon Overlook is a fine place to visit. The canyon itself is very long, tight, and weaving. The main challenges are sand and climbing. Exposure above Day Canyon is frightening. There is a slot wash-a tight and twisted eroded water course cut through solid rock-above the drop into the abyss. You can slip into this slot if you are not careful. If you are riding with children be especially careful here. Trail Surface: Well maintained county road and unmaintained 4WD track. Hardpack, sand, babyheads, and bedrock.
