The Two Tortoise ride is an alternative that departs from the Gemini Bridges Trail at the Gold Bar Rim Trail spur offering a short but sweet and very technical loop that eventually connects to Bull Canyon Road and completes the loop back at the spur to Gold Bar Rim. Once on the Two Tortoise Rock loop, the trail becomes sandy and more and more ledgy and technical. The scenery is awesome, and the accessibility to a number of other routes described here can turn this into a leg of a very fine epic ride. This ride can present you with great wildlife viewing when done during early morning. Trail surface: Out on a county-maintained dirt road and a loop on a technical 4WD track. Ledgy bedrock, sand, babyheads, packed sand, smooth bedrock, hardpack, and wash crossings with sand and ledge transitions.
