This ride can be rough and it can be smooth and it can be sweet and it can be scary as hell. Riding some of the formations is only for the most experienced and prepared freeride specialists. Be safe. The first time you attempt to ride in this area it is advisable to already have a good dose of slickrock riding under your belt. knowing which spots are suitable for learning and which areas are deadly can be a tricky choice for the uninitiated. Always ride with a friend out here-a friend who knows the area well. The Bartlett Wash slickrock area offers an infinite assortment of freeform slickrock areas and challenges. You don't have to endanger yourself if you choose to simply ride out-and-back on the ledges to enjoy the scenery--which is spectacular in the extreme, but be warned, slickrock chutes and bowls are enticing. Ease of access gives you every opportunity to do something stupid. Trail Surface: Dirt road to freeform slickrock area. A sand, gravel, shale, and loose rock 4WD road that crosses a couple of wash bottoms. You end up on Entrada slickrock with lots of rollies, berms, chutes, bowls, jumps, and dropoffs.

Bartlett Wash isn''t so much a trail as a slickrock playground. You can choose how easy or difficult you want to make it, so it''s a great place to go with a group of varied ability levels. The XC race-oriented types in my group didn''t like this trail at all, since there''s no Point A to Point B, and they were constantly looking for trail markers and trying to hurry everyone else along. The rest of us played in natural halfpipes and dropoffs and enjoyed the scenery.

It is very fun. It is also very hard if you are a beginner. Ihave done it lots of times. It is one of my favorit trails to do in moab. If you do it have alot of water.
