“Once upon a time” this classic loop took bicyclists along quiet country roads to the remote reaches of the Salt Lake Valley, where cattle grazed and horses galloped through pastures to challenge the peloton. Today the Draper-Herriman loop follows the same roads, but farm fields are forever yielding to suburban sprawl and the once peaceful roads are now busy thoroughfares to designer neighborhoods. It’s still a classic ride, but if you haven’t pedaled out this way in years, you’ll be shocked at the change.
