This loop connects to a variety of other Missoula trails, while offering high views from the saddle of Mount Jumbo and a swell, tricky downhill through Woods Gulch. Mount Jumbo, a cornerstone of the Missoula openspace plan, is closed part of the year to help the elk herd that winters on the mountain, but in other seasons abundant wildlife can be found hereabouts. Tread: Singletrack, doubletrack, and small amount on dirt and paved roads.
