Located 25 miles northeast of Helena, about 6 miles east of York in the Big Belt Mountains. Strong intermediate and advanced riders will enjoy this trail's smorgasboard of challenges, from roots, rocks, and water bars to narrow, trenched tread and quad-popping climbs. Wildflowers are abundant in early summer, and deer and elk frequent the forests and clearings along the upper ridge. The route is described here as a short up-and-back ride, but other route options allow for an 8-mile up-and-back extension, or a long loop ride out Magpie Gulch.
