Located 10 miles southwest of Helena; at the head of Colorado Gulch. This wide, shady trail has a remote feel despite signs of cattle grazing and past mining activity. Look for elk and deer, especially near vast Black Hall Meadows. Then enjoy a strenuous but fully rideable climb to the 7,217-foot bald know of Colorado Mountain and outstanding views. Local mountain bikers should do this ride at least once a year.
