Located in Mount Helena City Park, on the southwest edge of Helena's Upper West Side neighborhood. This is one of the less strenuous routes on Mount Helena, with good views of town, a surprisingly secluded section of wooded trail, and a chance of seeing deer and other wildlife. These features made this loop a favorite of Ed Eschler, a well-liked and respected road and mountain biker and marathon runner who inspired many Helena athletes by competing well into his 60s. After Ed passes away in May 1996, his friends named this loop ride in his honor.
